NATURAL SKIN CARE

Beautiful Skin Secrets

For Clear Skin, and a Glowing, Healthy Complexion

  1. To lighten dark spots and acne marks, dab on fresh squeezed lemon juice, or apply organic grass-fed yogurt to your entire face and neck (leave on for 10 minutes) to lighten and brighten your skin
  2. Prevent and eliminate blackheads, dry skin, and give your skin a dewy look just by drinking at least 2 liters (1/2 gallon) of filtered water per day – sounds like a lot, but it will do the trick!
  3. Speaking of water, filter your shower and sink water (my favorite is Environmental Water Systems) so you’re not dumping chlorine and chemicals on your skin and hair – you’ll end up with soft skin and healthier hair, and if you have asthma and allergies, it may help with that too
  4. Use a lotion mask nightly (or in the morning before applying makeup), for a beautifully moisturized and glowing complexion (for more info on lotion masks, I highly recommend reading The Japanese Skincare Revolution)
  5. Pimple Emergency! To heal a pimple quickly, apply 100% tea tree oil with a cotton swab directly onto the pimple every few hours, and apply vitamin E oil on the spot at night, about 1 hour before bedtime
  6. Give yourself a glow, shrink pores, give your skin an antioxidant burst, and even out skin tone with some champagne and a cotton ball
  7. Puffy face? Drink dandelion tea and try a 3-minute Tanaka face massage to get the lymph moving and eliminate puffiness
  8. Prevent pimples and keep your skin smooth with glycolic acid from a sugar scrub – mix organic cane sugar with your face or body wash in the palm of your hand, or try myDIY simple scrub
  9. Whiten your teeth by brushing with straight baking soda (you can add some xylitol for a better taste – it’s a sweetener derived from birch trees)
  10. For a quick glow, apply a few drops of olive, coconut, or jojoba oil to the tops of your cheekbones and your browbones (where you would apply highlighter or shimmer cream)
  11. Sleep on silk pillowcases to prevent hair damage/breakage and keep your skin looking youthful – I swear by silk, your hair and skin will thank you!
  12. Take a quality vitamin C supplement to prevent early aging and help your body produce collagen – I love Health Force Nutritionals Truly Natural Vitamin C powder (I take 2 tsp. twice per day)
  13. Keep your skin supple and smooth by supplementing with fish oil – I use Carlson Labs Cod Liver Oil (liquid) in lemon flavor
  14. Eat 1 cup of leafy greens daily (preferably steamed, juiced, or blended for best digestion) to keep your complexion clear and under-eye circles at bay
  15. You can use sugar externally, but avoid eating it since it can cause breakouts (not to mention headaches and mood swings) – use raw honey, stevia, or xylitol instead.

    Oily Skin

    • Oily skin isn't all that bad, as it is believed that it doesn't wrinkle as fast as dry skin. For some, oily skin would mean sticky skin and for others it's a living nightmare of acne. Either way, don't lose heart it is easy to look after. Just trace the oily skin causes and treat them if it requires medical help, otherwise basic precautions can help to clear up that skin and reveal a beautiful flawless face. Remember not to pick your pimple, as doing this leaves a mark. Wash your face as often as possible and apply a moisturizer for oily skin after washing it. Daily skin care routine for oily skin is simple, as all you need to do is wash your face with an oil control face wash, apply a toner to close the pores and moisturize. A simple beautiful skin secret for oily skin is not to touch your face too may times, and though it may seem odd, but if you touch a pimple on your forehead and then touch your cheek, trust me, the next morning you will be saying good morning to a pimple on your cheek.
    Dry Skin

Dry skin care is relatively simpler than the skin care required for oily skin. Whatever you do, just make sure that you use a light skin cleanser that doesn't strip your face off its moisture. Use a good moisturizer to seal in the moisture and prevent dryness. One of the best remedies for dry skin is to exfoliate your skin regularly. It is best to follow as many natural methods as possible especially when it concerns your face. Exfoliate skin naturally at home, to open the pores and remove the dead skin layer. Beautiful skin secrets for dry skin on face are easy to follow, as long as one follows a religious skin care routine. Skin needs to be looked after at every age, if you want the aging process of the skin to slow down, care for it well, especially in your youth.

    Anti-Aging

Everyone wants instant tips for younger looking skin but the truth is, there are no shortcuts to beautiful skin. Follow the tips given in beautiful skin care thoroughly to wage your anti-aging war. The best way to slow down aging and receive minimum aging damage is to eat plenty of nutritious anti-aging foods for skin and try some anti aging supplements.

    Beautiful Skin Tips

Skin Care is only effective if the treatment is given according to the skin type. There are different types of skin and thus, their care is also different.
One of the most important secrets to a beautiful skin is to follow a daily skin care routine. Always remember to cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize, no matter what your skin type is.
Beautiful skin requires a beautiful skin diet, which includes a balanced diet and regular detox, as eating right will solve half your skin problems. The rest depends on how well one looks after it, also, eat plenty of green vegetables and fruits.
Always wear sunscreen to prevent damage caused to your skin due to sunrays.
Drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated, especially if you have dry skin. Drinking water is the easiest way to detox your body and flush out the toxins.
Change your make-up every six months, if that is not possible, at least a year is a must. Use good quality make up and never use expired make up. I can't stress enough on it but please remove your make up and sleep.
One of the most important tips is to get plenty of rest, so make sure you sleep for minimum 8 to 10 hours. Don't forget that beauty sleep is not a myth, those 15 - 20 minutes are a must for wrinkle free skin care.
A healthy lifestyle is must for beautiful skin, which means all you lazy bones need a good workout routine.
Discovering secrets to a flawless skin is not a big deal, just as long as we listen to our body. The answer to beautiful skin secrets lies within us, and in our ability to understand our skin.

Wet face (or anywhere on the body), apply a couple of tablespoons of sea salt, then GENTLY massage with a wet washcloth or fingers. Focus on the T-zone and cheeks, but avoid the eye area. The orange is full of Vitamin C and AHA's

    Beautiful Feet
Everyone wants to have smooth skin and Beautiful Feet. Well you can if you take 1 cup Lemon Juice, Cinnamon (for smell), 2 tablespoons (or less) olive oil, 1/4 cup of milk, and water. Make a wash that leaves skin refreshed and fragrant (the amount of water does not matter). If you do not like the cinnamon smell you can replace it with another spice, perfume, or flower petals such as roses. After you make it, you can put it in a tub were you can soak your feet or body. Next dry your feet or rinse them with water and a MILD soap. You are sure to achieve a silky smooth skin a few weeks of religiously following this routine.

    White Nails
To whiten your nails, try these:
Use a common whitening toothpaste. Try scrubbing your nails with Pearl Drops, it's just as easy as achieving a pearly white smile and will take away any stains and shine up your nails.
Soak your nails in water with lemon juice or lemon slices. The lemon acts as an astringent and will strip away stains. Once your hands are dry, you'll only need to put on a couple of coats of a clear topcoat

    Skin Sauna
A good deep cleansing treat is to give your face a sauna. This is especially good for congested skin. You need to fill a bowl with near boiling water and add four drops of each of the essential oils recommended for your skin type.
    NORMAL : Mandarin and Lavender.
    OILY : Lemon and Eucalyptus.
    DRY : Rose and Chamomile.

Place a towel over your head and hold it over the bowl from a distance of about 30cm for a period of around two minutes. This opens the pores and prepares it for a face mask. You should not use a face sauna if you have sensitive skin, are pregnant or suffer from asthma.

    Wrinkle Remover
Green Thompson seedless grapes! It has one of the ingredients in those big time expensive wrinkle creams. All you do is cut a grape in half and gently crush it on your face and neck. Make sure that you get the "crows-feet" and the lines around your mouth. Leave it on for twenty minutes or so and rinse with tepid water and pat dry. Repeat every day and before you know it... those nasty old lines will be hard to find! Don't forget to drink at least 8 glasses of water daily. And... eat veggies rich in Vitamin A, such as carrots, celery and spinach. If you can, try to get at least 8 hours of sleep every night.
